About Me

I'm Anna, a former teacher turned stay-at-home mom.

Actually, I've found motherhood quite similar to teaching, except no one comes to pick these kids up at 3pm. I currently use my vast knowledge of child development and pedagogy to become the best diaper changer I can be.

I live in North Carolina with my hunky husband and 3 kids, Jack (5), Henry (3) and Elise (2).

In which we were all groomed and coordinated for about 10 minutes last Easter before everyone began losing articles of clothing and digging through the pine straw for eggs. And the kids got messy too.
The good Lord blessed me with 3 children in 3.5 years and I'm not even using the word blessed sarcastically. Before kids I kind of thought I had it all together, but there is nothing like a screaming newborn at 3am to make you realize you actually know nothing and your only options are insanity or prayer.

I thank God that He is using motherhood and a generous dose of grace to show me how much I really need Him. My children teach me patience, humility, love, selflessness and also how to appreciate the humor in bodily functions.

Now, instead of striving for perfection, I search for the perfection in all of life's little messes, and I write our family's stories with honesty and perhaps the occasional touch of humor.

My writing has been featured on Scary MommyHuffPost Parents, MOPS InternationalMamapediaThe Handmade Home and I'm a frequent contributor to Triad Moms on Main
